This cake was for a 19 year old's birthday. This soccer ball cake is made out of vanilla and chocolate cake with strawberry buttercream filling. I first covered the cake in a thin layer of fondant and then cut out shapes and attached them on.
For some detail I used a fondant tool to make marks around the hexagons and pentagons on top in order to make it look like a real ball.
